GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Joe Gentz , the man who is at the center of the Bashara murder investigation, walked into the Grosse Pointe Park Police Department for a brief moment, then quickly left the station.
7 Action News investigator Scott Lewis tried to question Gentz as he entered the police station. He would not respond to any questions.
Scott Lewis asked Gentz several questions, even asking him whether he killed Jane Bashara.
Once inside, Gentz reportedly asked to speak to a detective.
Police later said that Gentz made a surprise visit. They did not anticipate him coming back to the station, but they say he was asking for the return of a cell phone that was taken from him.
Gentz has admitted to having a significant role in the death of Jane Bashara.
Bashara was found dead in her Mercedes-Benz SUV on January 25 on Detroit's east side.
It was determined that she had been strangled.
So far, there have been no charges or arrests in the case.
