(WXYZ) - The Bob Bashara case, well known for kinky sex, extramarital affairs and murder-for-hire has come down to bickering over the return of evidence to the defense.
And Judge Vonda Evans is not happy about it. Friday morning she found herself mediating what she felt was a petty dispute between Bashara's defense team and prosecutors over evidence.
"These computers, we contend, should have been given back in April," argued defense attorney Lillian Diallo.
But Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey disagrees, saying "That was not the stipulation for them, saying they weren't going to forensically examine the computers. Those are two separate issues."
Judge Vonda Evans said she was a judge, "not a referee at a little league game," and she refuses "to allow this trial to go down that path."
She ordered the disputed computers, cell phones and other items returned to the defense immediately and told both sides to start working in the spirit of cooperation.
Motions will be filed in the case September 8 and the trial is set to begin one month later at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
