An off-duty Wayne County deputy has been charged with a man's death.
Last October that deputy was driving on Dix and Detroit Avenue when he struck another vehicle.
Fifty-six-year-old Henry Lowe was seated in the front passenger seat and was riding with a friend just before 10:30 that evening.
Police say Wayne County Sheriff's deputy, 36-year-old Matthew Doss was off-duty when it happened. Lowe had major injuries and later died at the hospital.
An investigation was led by the Downriver Crash Response Team. They determined Deputy Doss was speeding....
Doss has been charged with reckless driving causing death and he's been suspended without pay.
We tried reaching out to Deputy Doss but no one wanted to answer the door.
He will turn himself over to police Monday in Lincoln Park.
