ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Romulus Mayor Alan Lambert has issued a statement response to Monday's Michigan State Police raid on his house.
The statement reads as follows:
The Michigan State Police executed a search warrant at my house on Monday, March 25. I cooperated fully with the investigators and let the officers do their job. I have no further information to share on this matter at this time. My family and I look forward to a quick resolution of whatever issues are involved, and in the meantime with your help, we will continue to focus on moving our City forward.
Lambert's home was
raided Monday night, when police officers spent 12 hours inside collecting evidence. Police are only saying the raid was conducted as part of an on-going public corruption investigation involving officials from the City of Romulus.
However, 7 Action News has learned that the case is not connected to the upcoming trial of several members of the Romulus Police Department.
That case relates a corruption probe involving the Romulus Police Department.
