Suspects captured after police chase, suspects may be connected to rash of break-ins in Livonia

LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) - Several suspects were put in handcuffs after a police chase, and investigators think they might be connected to a rash of break-ins around Livonia.

An alert neighbor noticed a suspicious dark green Ford Taurus Monday morning on Elmira St. near Plymouth and Wayne Roads.

He reported it to police, but when officers tried stop the car, the suspects took off.

The pursuit continued from I-96 east of Farmington Rd. to just south of I-96 at the Greenfield exit.

The suspects made a hard turn off the exit, and that's when police used the PIT maneuver to make the driver lose control. The three suspects, all from Detroit, tried to run off but were apprehended.

Investigators say the men may be tied to two home invasions from Monday, another one that happened on Sunday and possibly others that occurred during the last several weeks.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned this week in 16th District Court.
