LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police say a trio of habitual offenders bungled a murder for hire plot. They are now all facing up to life in prison.
Early Wednesday morning, the home of an unidentified 51-year-old Livonia woman was firebombed.
But the flames from the Molotov cocktail were confined to the outside of the house on Stanmoor street and the intended victim was not injured.
Police were called and given a description of a suspicious vehicle.
When the vehicle was stopped 35-year-old Sophia Pappas of Wyandotte, 33-year-old Alvin Echols of Detroit and 29-year-old Evelyn Lewek of Redford Township were arrested.
On Friday they were all charged with four felonies including assault with intent to commit murder and conspiracy.
Because of lengthy criminal records, the defendants are being held without bond.
