WESTLAND, Mich. (WXYZ) - Westland Police say they've arrested three suspects accused of assaulting a veteran outside of a 7-Eleven store early Thursday morning.
According to police, the 25-year-old Livonia Man was confronted by three white men in their 20s while he was in the store. Police say they followed him outside into the parking lot, and began making derogatory comments to him about the U.S. Military, after noticing military insignia on his vehicle.
Police tell us the three suspects began attacking the victim by punching and kicking him. They took off and the victim followed them, before the suspects turned around and began attacking him again.
The victim was able to get assistance from a resident nearby, and was transported to the hospital. He sustained a broken nose, lacerations to the face and mouth, and head injuries.
Westland Police tell us they've submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County prosecutor's office.
