A woman from Dearborn says her roof has been leaking and she has been trying to get in contact with the contractors who installed it – with no luck.

Janice Meisser is struggling with cancer. She says dealing with chemo treatments is tough enough, but now she has to deal with the leak from her roof, and even worse, she was told the company that installed the roof went out of business.

These days the 60-year-old Meissner spends her time getting cancer treatments, gardening, and keeping her kitchen dry.

She says back in 2011 she hired 1st Choice Home Improvement to put in a new roof  – price tag $9,870.

She says everything was fine until a few weeks ago, after the heavy rain.

She called the contractors who were listed on her paperwork. Then called around trying to find the owners.

Late this afternoon, we were able to track down the owner of the company. He says the company went out of business a few years ago. But, he will be sending someone over this week to check out Janice’s roofing problem.

We will of course, stay on top of it, to make sure he does.
