(WXYZ) - Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network have announced they will file a federal lawsuit against Michigan's emergency manager law.
Rev. Sharpton and other NAN members will be attending a leadership meeting on Thursday in Detroit with labor, faith, and religious leaders to come up with a strategy around the appointment of an Emergency Manager to run the city's finances..
The meeting will start at 9:00 am, afterward NAN says they plan to file their lawsuit at the federal courthouse.
Sharpton and the National Action Network aren't the only one's fighting the emergency manager law. Activist Robert Davis has filed a lawsuit over what he says are violations of the Open Meetings Act in the hiring of Kevyn Orr as Detroit's Emergency Manager.
