Reward increased for information in skinned dog case

(WXYZ) - The Michigan Humane Society and several other organizations are offering a combined $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for partially skinning and stabbing a dog.

The terrier, also known as Patty, was found on September 12 wandering in a Detroit neighborhood. Providing for Paws rushed the dog to a veterinary hospital.

Patty is still recovering from her critical injuries.

"Now that her condition has been upgraded from critical to serious, we can focus more of our efforts and
care on getting her eating well and regaining muscle mass," said Dr. Lindsay Ruland of Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Ann Arbor. "We expect her condition to continue to improve, but she has a long road to recovery ahead of her and could potentially need further surgeries."

Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the MHS Hotline at (313) 872-3401.
