(WXYZ) - Three men are in custody for robbing the home of a woman on her wedding day.
“The best day of my life, they ruined it,” said the mother of the bride who did not want to be identified. “I see my house destroyed. They make me very sad.”
The bride was worried everyone would be gone during her wedding weekend, so she asked police to keep an eye on the home in the 42000 of Locklin in Sterling Heights.
Officers did just that and happened to catch the trio leaving after ransacking the house.
Now, 23-year-old Taymar Jarbo, 20-year-old Thomas Khidir, 21-year-old Aveal Gigka are in custody for the crime.
“Thank God the police caught them,” said the mother of the bride. “They make me feel more safe and comfortable.”
All three suspects have been charged with Second Degree Home Invasion and Possession of Burglary Tools.
If convicted, they could spend 15 years behind bars. Meanwhile, the victims said they have installed state of the art security to make sure something like this does not happen again.
