Robbery leads police to search for suspect

Sterling Heights Police need your help

Sterling Heights Police need your help in finding a man they say robbed the Zazz Gas Station at 15 mile and Mound early Thursday morning.

Just before 3:00 a.m. Sterling Heights police were called to the gas station.  The clerk who was working at the time and sweeping the floor was attacked.  The victim didn't go down without a fight.  He and the suspect got into a fight.

Police then say the suspect walked with the victim towards the front of the store to the cash register where the suspect then pulled a gun.  He hit the clerk in the head with the gun then ran from the store into the neighborhood nearby.

Police won't say how much the suspect got away with.  The suspect didn't make a clean get-away though, he dropped money as he ran.

Lt. Kevin Reese with the Sterling Heights Police Dept. says that money could lead them to the suspect.

If you recognize the suspect in the photos or in the video, you're asked to call the Sterling Heights Police or Crime Stoppers.
