(WXYZ) - Local pieces of artwork, vintage treasures, craftsmanship, clothing and invention! These are the types of things you'll find when you walk into the Rust Belt Market.
It's located in a prominent area of Ferndale - right at the northwest corner of 9 Mile Road and Woodward.
The Rust Belt Market is only open on weekends right now, but the owners are hoping to change that with your help.
Chris and Tiffany Best want to turn their thriving weekend business into a thriving weekday business too.
They need to raise $20,000 to fulfill their goal to expand to weekdays. They want to hold events at the Rust Belt Market, so they launched a public fundraiser on Kickstarter.
They'd like to rent out the space for weddings, bands and other events - all while bringing in more foot traffic for the artists. So far, they've raised more than $3,300, and have until March 22 to reach their goal. The Rust Belt Market is known as "a home for working artists" in the community.
