HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich (wxyz) - Sandy's impact is being felt on Lake St Clair and Lake Huron with high winds and high waves.
Those who live on and near the lakes are taking precautions and getting ready to ride out the storm.
Donald Vonk tied down his outdoor furniture and so did Craig and Peggy Schlay. Both have lived on Lake St Clair on North River Road for many years and say they've seen everything from water spouts and winds of nearly 70 miles per hour. They say you just have to prepare your house and yourself.
In Port Huron, Lake Huron was churning because of Storm Sandy and still people came to the beach at Lakeside Park to challenge Mother Nature.
The weather isn't expected to be any better Tuesday, but those who are impacted say they are ready and they say they know the people in the direct line of the storm have it much worse.
