(WXYZ) - Facebook is rumored to launch its new Graph Search function Monday.
Graph Search was unveiled in January 2013 but only took affect for a small group of beta users.
Several media outlets including Mashable and The New York Times report Monday's launch will provide Facebook users with a more in-depth search of people, places, photos and interests.
The New York Times reports "Now, Facebook is trying to make it easier to find that lost photo or restaurant recommendation and unearth other information buried within your social network with a tool it calls Graph Search."
For example, users could ask Facebook "Which of my Detroit friends listen to country music?" before buying tickets to a Kenny Chesney concert at Ford Field. Or you might ask "Who lives in San Francisco and likes to run?" before registering for a marathon in the City by the Bay.
If Facebook can't give you suitable results it will offer Bing web results, according to Mashable .
Facebook had not made an official statement or issued a press release on the Graph Search launch as of Monday morning.
