(WXYZ) - The royal baby is coming.
Officials say the Duchess of Cambridge is due in mid July, which means the future heir to the British throne should show up any day now.
Unless you plan on camping outside St. Mary's Hospital alongside the paparazzi you'll likely turn to social media to find out about the little British bundle of joy.
Your first stop should be the The British Monarch Facebook and Twitter ( @BritishMonarchy ) accounts. To honor tradition the formal birth notice will be placed on an easel in Buckingham Palace but it will simultaneously be posted to these two official government social media accounts.
Then of course there is the royal baby's Facebook page. That's right, although the baby has not yet taken it's first breath, the tiny royal has about 11,000 Facebook fans. The unofficial fan page was created in November and has chronicled the developments of Kate's pregnancy ever since.
The dark horse in this race however is The Clarence House Twitter account ( @ClarenceHouse ). Mashable reports the Clarence House, which is the former London home of Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mum, was the first to announce William and Kate's engagement on social media making it a likely contender in the royal baby rush.
Remember while you sit in the virtual waiting room you can sign the Royal Baby Book and wish the Royal Family well.
