Several Detroit offices will remain closed until Jan. 4 due to furlough day, holiday

DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - Several City of Detroit offices will be closed until Wednesday, January 4 in observance of the holiday and for a budget furlough day.

Normal police, fire and bus services will be provided.

The following City of Detroit offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 3 because of budget-mandated furlough:

Administrative Hearings
Building Authority
Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department
City Clerk's Office and City Clerk Archives and Records Division
City Council Offices
Communications & Creative Services Division (CCSD)
Community Access Centers (formerly Neighborhood City Halls)
Environmental Affairs
Finance Department - Income Tax, Revenue Collections, Treasury & Purchasing
General Services Department
Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Authority (GDRRA)
Health and Wellness Promotion
Human Resources (with the exception of Payroll Division)
Human Rights
Labor Relations
Mayor's Office
Media Services (formerly Cable Communications Commission)
Municipal Parking (with the exception of garages and cashier offices)
Ombudsman's Office
Public Works (Refuse to be picked up, and drop-off locations will be open.)
Total Copy Center

The Department of Public Works will not collect refuse and recycling on Monday, Jan. 2. DPW crews will collect trash and recyclables one day later. Tuesday's collection will be picked up on Wednesday and so forth.
