(WXYZ) - Could our clothes clean themselves in the future?
A team of people in San Francisco is working to change the fashion industry with that exact concept in mind.
The creators of the Silic shirt say the fabric has hydrophobic nanotechnology that lets liquids and other substances roll right off.
Apparently, the special fabric is layered with billions of silica particles- -causing water based liquids to form into small droplets as the slide off the shirt.
The team also says on their Kickstarter fundraising page that they are partnering with Vera Wang to develop designer clothing at a reasonable price.
The Silic shirt has already blown through its $20,000 Kickstarter goal with nearly 30 days remaining in their campaign.
