DETROIT - Monday turned out to be a pretty interesting day. Metro Detroit received a one-two punch of snow and freezing rain, making the morning commute challenging to say the least.
"It's pretty messy. I would not recommend being out driving unless you have to."
That's easy for Harvey Rosen to say. He's retired and running errands in the late morning no less; after the excitement had somewhat died down.
"It was terrible. There's ice everywhere, I did not expect to see this at all."
Our 7 First Alert Meteorologists did give us a heads up, but seeing is believing. Tierra Summers is one of the thousands of Metro Detroiters who were forced to react to the wintry mix that was dumped on our roads. There were several accidents and more than 500 schools cancelled class.
