(WXYZ) - The State of Michigan will not appeal a judge's ruling that placed Congressman John Conyers back on the August Primary ballot.
Federal Judge Matthew Leitman had previously ruled that Congressman Conyers be put back on the ballot.
Before the judge had issued his order, the Michigan Secretary of State Elections Division had issued a determination that Congressman John Conyers did not have enough signatures to be on the ballot.
Judge Leitman's ruling superseded that decision.
7 Action News reporter Jim Kiertzner talked with the Congressman, and was the first to break the news to Conyers that he would be back on the ballot.
The ballot battle originally began over whether circulators who gathered signatures had to be registered voters.
