(WXYZ) - They couldn't get the deal done. Instead of staying on the job, our lawmakers went home to start their summer break, leaving roadways to crumble. Our elected leaders are playing a game of pothole politics.
We asked State Senator Bert Johnson how this could happen.
"Republicans refused to put up votes to give us a road funding bill," said Johnson. "Those are the answers."
Metro Detroiters don't want answers, they want action. Action News took the senator for a ride to see for ourselves the disastrous road conditions.
"Citizens have to express outrage to people holding good public policy hostage," said Johnson.
