DETROIT (AP) - Gov. Rick Snyder plans to hold a bill signing event in Detroit for legislation related to the city and the Detroit area.
An advisory from Snyder's office says he'll be joined by Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, lawmakers and others for the Wednesday afternoon press conference.
The governor's office says Snyder plans to sign legislation "aimed at investing in and strengthening Detroit and the southeast Michigan region."
Specific bills involved in the event weren't immediately released.
Lawmakers earlier this month approved legislation including a lighting authority for Detroit, an authority for public transportation in the Detroit area and legislation that could lead to the Detroit Red Wings finally getting a new home.
