Woman charged with embezzling $140K of dad's money

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Redford woman accused of using more than $140,000 of her father's money for her own personal use has been charged with felony embezzlement from a vulnerable adult.

Attorney General Bill Schuette says in a statement Wednesday that Renee Bullock faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted.

Bullock was granted general power of attorney by her father in June, 2010 and named his temporary guardian and conservator in January.

Schuette says during that time Bullock failed to pay the nursing facility and paid for a leased Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Tahoe using her father's funds.

Bullock remains free on a $10,000 personal bond. A Dec. 6 preliminary exam is scheduled.

A message seeking comment was left by The Associated Press at a phone listing under Bullock's name.
