DETROIT (WXYZ) - A coalition representing 30 of Detroit's unions appeared in an Ingham County courtroom before Judge William Collette to argue that the state has violated the Open Meetings Act dozens of times.
Judge Collette granted the unions a show-cause hearing to determine whether the Open Meetings Act was violated 44 times as the state gathered information on the city's finances.
The coalition represents 5400 union members.
Judge Collette has previously been on the record saying that the Financial Review Team violated the Open Meetings Act and ordered that further meetings be open to the public.
No one representing the state appeared in court.
A show-cause hearing has been scheduled for April 9.
