(WXYZ) - Michigan State Police are holding an informational recruiting seminar for women on Saturday, July 19.
The event is designed to show interested women the career opportunities available with the department. Many of the department's specialty units, including Forensic Science Division, Canine Unit, Special Investigations, Biometrics and Identification Division, and Gaming Section, will be featured.
The seminar is part of MSP's ENFORCE, INVESTIGATE and SERVE recruiting campaign. It will be held at 10:00 a.m. in room 100B at the Macomb Intermediate School District on 44001 Garfield Road in Clinton Township.
However, participants should arrive by 9:45 a.m. They should also dress in business casual attire.
MSP is currently recruiting for training sessions that begin in February and July of 2015.
The minimum requirements for consideration of employment are as follows: an applicant must be of good moral character; a United States citizen; a Michigan resident at the time of appointment to the academy; at least 21 years of age; possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.; have a good driving record; possess a stable credit history; and no felony convictions.
