FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 79-year-old Flint Township woman whose first words after emerging from a semi-coma that lasted five years were, "I want to go to a Bob Seger concert," is getting her wish.
The Flint Journal reports that Evie Branan will see Seger Thursday night at the Palace in Auburn Hills.
Branan came out of the coma on May 7, 2011. She had suffered a stroke that led to her becoming a resident of Willowbrook Manor's long-term care unit. She couldn't speak, move or eat on her own.
Willowbrook administrator Michelle Cross says Brenan inspires the staff. So when Cross found out Seger was coming to Auburn Hills, she worked with Seger's management company to make it a memorable experience that will include dinner with Seger band members.
