(WXYZ) - There was a standing room only crowd Tuesday night in Sterling Heights.
They gathered for a city council's vote on a human rights ordinance that is generating a lot of debate.
The ordinance would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
People on both sides of the issue have been stepping up to the podium to speak their minds.
We're waiting to hear the results of the vote.
If approved, Sterling Heights would be the first city in Macomb County with this type of ordinance.
