6-Year-Old Drowns in Hotel Pool

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police are investigating the tragic death of a 6-year-old girl.

The child was found in the pool at the Knights Inn in Madison Heights around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. CPR was attempted and the little girl was rushed to the hospital by EMS, but she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The girl's mother was hospitalized and has not been questioned. Officers say she could face charges if it is determined she left her child unattended.
