GLENDA LEWIS REPORTS IN THE VIDEO PLAYER ON THE RIGHT.The Accounting Aid Society was primed, pumped, and ready to start a new tax season beginning Saturday, January 24th, but frozen pipes burst leaving the building under several inches of water.
On Saturday the group intended to open 21 sites to help families with their taxes, but now only 4 will open because of water damage to their files and paperwork.
The group is trying to find temporary quarters, but say it will take at least 30 days.
Last year, Accounting Services Aid served 12,500 low income families and returned $10.8 million.
