Free Meals, Services for Local Veterans

(WXYZ) - Free meals and services are being offered to veterans all over Metro Detroit to honor them for their service to our country.

Free Meal at Applebee's

All U.S. veterans and active duty military personnel can choose from six entrees at any local Applebee's restaurant location. Select meals will be offered to veterans for free.

Free Lunch or Dinner at Texas Roadhouse

On Wednesday, November 11, a local restaurant chain will offer a free lunch or dinner to veterans who have served our country.

Texas Roadhouse locations across Detroit are inviting veterans to come out on Wednesday to get their free meal.

Veterans who show up in uniform or provide military identification will be honored guests for lunch or dinner.

Texas Roadhouse says it's their way of saying thanks to the men and women who have served in the armed forces.

Here are the Texas Roadhouse locations that will particpate on Wednesday, November 11:

Free Pistons Tickets for Veterans

Current members and veterans of the armed services will receive complimentary tickets to the Charlotte Bobcats game on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Palace.

Family and friends, and any fans interested in supporting the cause, will be given the opportunity to purchase specially priced upper level tickets for just $11 or specially priced lower level tickets for $40. Proceeds go to support the Team Selfridge Family Relief Fund.

Free Movie Screening of Valkryie at AMC Livonia 20

AMC Livonia 20 will host the 2nd annual Veteran's Day movie celebration today at 3 p.m.

This year's event will feature a free screening of the film "Valkrie" for local veterans. In addition to the screening, concessions will be provided free of charge to veterans who attend, compliments of AMC Theatres of Livonia.

The AMC Livonia 20 is located at 19500 Haggerty, North of 7 Mile Road in Livonia. An RSVP is required for a veteran and one guest. Call 1-866-262-7306. 


Free Rides in Oakland County Courtesy of SCRT

The "Safe, Compassionate, Reliable Transportation company" will provide free ground transportation to American armed forces veterans and active duty personnel throughout Oakland County.

The free van service is the company's way of saying thanks to local service members.
