LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) - Hundreds of people lined up early this morning to take advantage of a gas price we haven't seen in a long time.

The offer was supposed to run from 7:00 a.m. to 9 a.m., but so many people lined up that they kicked it off even earlier. The regular cost of gas at the station is $2.47.
The cheap gas was offered by CARFAX to promote their "Show Me the CARFAX Race Weekend at Michigan International Speedway. It runs August 15 and 16 during the CARFAX 400 race.
The line of customers trying to take advantage of the deal stretched for miles, and some of them even ran out of gas during the wait.
