SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Two new suspects have been charged in connection with the murder of a young pregnant woman who was shot to death outside of the restaurant where she worked.
WATCH PEGGY AGAR'S REPORT IN THE VIDEO PLAYER ON THE RIGHT19-year-old Deandre Sturgis was charged with first degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon. 20-year-old Brandon Davis is charged with conspiracy to rob while armed. Davis is cooperating with police and may serve as a witness to the murder.
15-year-old Jerome Hamilton had been charged previously in the case. Police believe he is the one who pulled the trigger killing Catherine Solinski-Blain as she tried to leave work after her shift at the restaurant.
Catherine was shot in her car on October 15th, 2008. The 21-year-old was a newlywed and had just learned she was pregnant.
Sources tell Action News the trio was on a crime spree in 2008 that eventually led up to Catherine's murder.
The young woman's family says these new charges are not a relief. They say they are still suffering from her loss.
