The home is just one street over from where the shooting took place. Police believe the suspect is related to someone who lives at that home.
Department spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens says the two officers stopped a car about 5 p.m. Wednesday. She says the driver got out of the car and fired shots at the officers, wounding the male officer in the leg before fleeing on foot. It was later learned that the wounded man's partner, a woman, was grazed by a bullet in the shoulder. Both officers are expected to be OK. Neither officer's name was released.
Investigators still aren't sure exactly what led the officers to approach the suspect, but when they did, they say the suspect turned around with the gun and fired multiple shots.
