YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police are trying to identify the children pictured in more than 1,000 images of child pornography found on a Ypsilanti Township man's computer.
Investigators are asking parents whose children may have had contact with 41-year-old Brian Demarest to come forward. Police are also trying to determine if some of the photos depict Demarest sexually assaulting young children.
Demarest was taken into custody around 7:00 p.m. Sunday. He is currently being held in the Washtenaw County Jail on eight counts of felony possession/distribution of child pornography and using a computer to commit a crime.
Demarest's bond has been set at $500,000. Parents whose children have had contact with him are asked to call either (734) 973-4625 or (734) 484-6740.
