For folks in Mount Clemens, this means the large New Year's party in their city. It's the only place in the area that celebrates the New Year with fireworks.
For others it's time for New Year's resolutions. Whether that means losing weight or helping your fellow man or working harder to be a better parent or spouse, the new year offers renewal for everyone.
One thing officials want to impress on everyone is the danger of ringing in the New Year with gunfire. They're asking gun owners to not shoot their guns off into the air as it poses a danger to others.
