LAKE ORION, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police say two men kept a woman captive in their Lake Orion home for nearly two months and repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
Fifty-four-year-old Leon Setty and 47-year-old Frank Bennett were arraigned Wednesday on charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Setty faces four counts and Bennett faces five counts.
Bennett's mother says she is shocked at the allegations against her son. Police say the woman held captive was sexually assaulted every day after the two men allegedly kept her drunk and beat her as well.
Police say it all came to an end when a friend of Bennett's stopped by the house. He told police he was offered sex with the woman for $5 or for free. He refused. He then waited until the men were asleep and took the woman to the police station.
Neighbors say they saw the woman often, taking walks or raking leaves or going to a nearby store, and she never asked for help. Police say that's because Bennett and Setty threated to kill her and her family if she told anyone what was going on.
Both men are being held on $1 million bond and are due back in district court in Rochester Hills on Nov. 17 for a pre-exam conference.
