Stranger danger reported in New Baltimore after man picked up teen girl

New Baltimore police are warning the public about a stranger danger situation after a man grabbed a 13-year-old girl around the waist and picked her up, trying to take her away.

According to police, the teen was talking on St. Clair Drive near Bree St. around 5:30 p.m. when the man approached her and asked her for a ride. That's when he grabbed her around the waist, picked her up from behind and tried to take her.

The girl said she kicked the man and he ran off toward Festival Park.

He is described as a white male in his 20s wearing a black shirt, black or grey capri-style pants with green eyes and messy hair.

Anyone who has information about the man or has surveillance video in the area is asked to call police at 586-725-2181.
