Police in the Grosse Pointes believe they may have the suspect responsible for two home invasions and two attempted home invasions in the area.

One home invasion took place in Grosse Pointe Woods and the victim was sexually assaulted.

In another home invasion that could be tied to the suspect, a sexual assault was attempted on a child.

The 27-year-old man at the center of the investigations lives on Moross, not far from all of the crimes.

The two most recent crimes, attempted home invasions, occurred early Sunday morning in Grosse Pointe Farms.

Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, a woman called 911 to say that she spotted a man in her window. He took off and police from neighboring agencies joined Grosse Pointe Farms Police in setting up a perimeter to block the would-be intruder from escaping.

And with help from Grosse Pointe Woods Police, Grosse Pointe Police, and Grosse Pointe Park Police, the suspect was arrested after more than six hours of searching.

Right now, police say they are only certain that the man under arrest is responsible for the two attempted home invasions on Sunday.

But police in Grosse Pointe Woods and the city of Grosse Pointe are looking into the strong possibility that he is responsible for the sexual assault and attempted sexual assault that took place in their jurisdictions during home invasions.

The 27-year-old suspect also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Wayne County Third Circuit Court in a home invasion case.

He has also served time in prison for armed robbery.
