Tara's Walk began as a way for her family to share her legacy and promote awareness on the issue of domestic violence.

This year, the walk will take place on the ground of Freedom Hill in Sterling Hights on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the walk going from 10 a.m. - Noon.

The event is $25 a person.
