(WXYZ) - "I can not tell a lie!"
Those words are usually attributed to George Washington. But, maybe he had his fingers crossed because according to some biographers, he never said them.
Nonetheless, they are words to live by, especially today, which is National Honesty Day.
We should always be truthful and straightforward. But, particularly today. National Honesty Day began in the 1990s in response to April 1st, April Fools' Day.
Of course, Mark Twain also got into the act and proclaimed: ""If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."
Just remember: Tell the Truth!
(And, not because it's National Honesty Day.)
