Thieves steal 52 tires and rims in two hours

LAKE ORION, Mich. (WXYZ) - Camera caught the thives in action, as a crew of thieves drove near Milosch's Palace Collision Center in Lake Orion with a box truck, and worked as fast as a pit crew, stealing thousands of dollars worth of new tires and rims Sunday night.

With 20 years experience, mechanic Darryl Fagelman can fix a tire as fast as you can say pothole. But even he couldn’t believe how fast the crooks took the tires and rims off 13 new cars in the back lot of Milosch’s storage yard. The dealership owner says all of this unfolded in two hours.

“So they knew what they were doing." said dealership owner Brian Milosch, "They took some of the most expensive ones. It’s going to end up being probably about 70 to 80 thousand dollars worth of damage and wheels and tires.”

The thieves broke into the cars, and found the keys to the lug nuts

“This was a pretty big hit. These guys were good." said Milosch, "They knew what they were doing.”

“Pretty gutsy." said Fagelman, "13 cars. It’s pretty gutsy.”

The Oakland County Sheriff’s department released photos from a surveillance camera next door. In the photos, you can see a box truck, with a crew of four individuals ready to rip the tires and run.

“Seems like these gangs come in here every few years," said Milosch, "We’re not the only lot they’ve hit and will hit.”
