Tutu Project helps raise awareness and funds for those battling breast cancer

One man's quest to make his wife laugh has turned into a mission to help those who battle breast cancer.
The story revolves around one man, his love for his wife and a pink tutu.

In 2003, after Bob Carey's wife Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer , Bob, an avid photographer, began taking pictures of himself wearing a pink tutu.

It made his wife so happy that it became a welcome distraction for her and soon after, Bob started the Tutu Project.

The project's mission is to help support women who battle breast cancer and their families through a nonprofit the pair created called the Carey Foundation.

The Careys say on their website that they strive to bring laughter and understanding to a community that has endured far too much.

People can buy postcards, books and calendars full of bob's images with a portion of the proceeds going to help others fighting for their lives.

A company in Germany called Deutsche Telekom recently shared this short documentary about the Tutu Project and it has since gone viral.
