(WXYZ) - U.S. Representative John Dingell was released from Henry Ford Hospital Friday morning after undergoing a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat.
Dingell had surgery Thursday to correct the abnormal heart rhythm, called atrial flutter. He will continue to be on blood thinner medication and arrhythmia medication.
According to Henry Ford Hospital, Dingell was in good spirits and resting comfortably at the hospital after the surgery Thursday.
He is expected to return to his normal daily activities and to Washington D.C. on March 24.
