Business owners in Detroit are like super heroes for the city. Their stores help breathe new life into areas in desperate need of businesses.

A new comic book store, Vault of Midnight, opened Monday on Library Street between Gratiot and Grand River.

It's the third location for the store, which is based in Ann Arbor.

It's the first comic book shop in downtown Detroit. Co-Owner Curtis Sullivan said, "We think every awesome big city needs a comic shop right in its center."

With this store, people living nearby will now have access to comics without having to venture into the suburbs.

"The energy, things happening in downtown Detroit and we wanted to be a part of it," said co-owner Nick Yribar.  "We're trying to get a comic book in to the hands of every single human being so that's why we chose this location."

The owners say there is something for everybody here.

"Comic books, graphic novels, lots of board games, lots of toys, and action figures and collectibles," said Yribar.

"If you like being entertained. If you like genre fiction, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, any of that stuff," Sullivan explained. "And you don't have to know any of this stuff. That's kind of a perception that people have is that 'I've never read comics. I don't know anything about it, it's fine we will get you right in no problem. Tell us what you like and we find you a cool book."

Saturday is Free Comic Book Day. Vault of Midnight will be giving out comics while supplies last.
