(WXYZ) - Sources say Jayru Campbell, the star high school quarterback from Detroit's Cass Tech, has been arrested. Video showing Campbell allegedly body slamming a school security guard has circulated on YouTube and social media.
The football player is said to be held at the Detroit Correction Center.
Campbell was set to play for Michigan State University in 2015, though he has not yet signed a letter of intent.
John Lewandowski, MSU Associate Athletics Director for Communications, says the NCAA prohibits any institution from commenting about specific prospects until they have signed a national letter of intent.
Other reports indicate that Campbell was recently suspended for punching a Detroit Catholic Central player in a post game handshake following a loss.
Cass Tech football coach Thomas Wilcher told 7 Action News that Jayru did, "Get into trouble at school today." The coach did not go into further detail.
The video posted to YouTube appears to be captured on another student's cell phone.
