(WXYZ) - New video of a wild chase in Macomb County shows just how recklessly one driver weaved through Mt. Clemens.
7 Action News received the dash cam video capturing car speeds exceeding 70 miles an hour. It ends with a head-on crash and an injured deputy.
It started last Friday with a traffic stop near North Avenue, when the driver hits the gas, and the chase ensues, he starts weaving through some tight residential streets. In the video, you can see at one point, the driver crashes into a stop sign, but manages to pull away with the bumper barely hanging on.
Finally, the chase ends as the driver collides with a sheriff’s car attempting to block the road. The Mustang then flips over, and deputies swarm.
Deputies say 43-year-old Cory Alan Olson of Mt. Clemens was transported to the a local hospital. He faces multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, resisting arrest, license plate forgery, and driving with a suspended license.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office tells us the injured deputy is an eight-year veteran who was released from the hospital Friday night.
