(WXYZ) - The Wayne State University Board of Regents is set to make a major decision on the school's tuition Wednesday.
The president is asking for a 9.3% tuition increase to raise revenue by an additional $10,000,000.
But there's a catch; If the tuition increase is approved, Wayne State would lose $500,000 in state funding.
WSU would lose funding because the university would exceed the 3.75% tuition cap set by the legislature.
If the bill is passed, students would likely pay extra $900 a year in tuition.
