(WXYZ) - A white SUV led police on a high-speed chase from Detroit to Warren Thursday morning.
The chase began in Detroit, proceeded up the Southfield Freeway and onto eastbound I-696 where Chopper 7 caught up with the SUV. Southfield, Detroit and Michigan State Police cars were in pursuit.
The suspect swerved in and out of traffic, and the expressway shoulder exceeding more than 110 mph.
Police forced the SUV to exit at Mound Road but the suspect swerved sharply, cutting across the embankment and landing back on eastbound I-696.
Shortly thereafter the chase came to and end near the Mound Rd exit in Warren when the driver slowed and pulled over. It appeared the driver may have run out of gas or suffered a mechanical failure.
Several police cars surrounded the vehicle with guns drawn, dragged out and handcuffed two suspects.
