WXYZ to broadcast Lions on Monday Night Football

(WXYZ) - If you’ve been waiting since last season for your football fix, WXYZ-TV is THE place to be for the Lions season opener tonight! The Detroit Lions take on the New York Giants at Ford Field and Channel 7 will have all the action, beginning with coverage on “The Now Detroit” at 4 p.m., 7 Action News at 5 p.m. and Monday Motown Showdown at 6 p.m. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and WXYZ will bring you the big game live, followed by complete postgame coverage.


Monday Motown Showdown will be hosted by 7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford. 7 Action Sports Director Tom Leyden will join NFL analyst Rob Rubick and Lions great Herman Moore for complete pregame analysis, along with exclusive interviews and insider game strategy.

During the season, tune to WXYZ every Sunday at 11 a.m. for complete pregame coverage on Lions GameDay LIVE and complete postgame coverage on Lions PostGame LIVE, immediately following the game on WMYD/TV20. On Mondays, 7 Action News at 7p.m. will go one-on-one with the coach for a recap on Coach Caldwell’s Corner, and then Thursdays on 7 Action News at 7 p.m., WXYZ will feature an interview with a key Lions player on Inside the Huddle.

Throughout the season, Lions fans can stay connected on wxyz.com/lions. The site will include a dedicated Lions Locker Room page that will feature the latest on the team, including Detroit Lions promotions and ticket giveaways.
