Young boy rescued after falling into St. Clair River near Port Huron

Port Huron Police say a 12-year-old boy was rescued after falling into the St. Clair River on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the boy was with friends when they all jumped into the water. He did not surface.

Fire crews, as well as the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Dive team, Port Huron police and Customs and Border Protection responded.

He was unresponsive after spending nearly 30 minutes in the water but he did have a pulse.

The boy was airlifted to a Detroit hospital but his condition is not known.
